A CHRISTIAN MINISTRY IN SERVICE TO AMERICAN INDIANS

Goals and Intentions of the Ministry

1.           The first priority of Osborne Indian Outreach (O.I.O.) is to reach American Indians for the Lord Jesus, through Christian principles, and to advance the gospel of Jesus Christ.

2.           O.I.O. is to encourage its members to actively participate in field trips and to establish relationships, encourage, and pray for the needs of our Indian brothers and sisters.

3.           O.I.O. is to encourage the participation of Indian pastors and/or their church members in Christian seminars, training in scriptural advancement, and fellowship either here or on the reservation.

4.           O.I.O. promises, as far as it is within its power, to assist American Indian pastors, churches, and individuals in their spiritual growth, physical well being, and in any other way.

5.           O.I.O. is committed to quarterly pastors' conferences, the sites to be determined, for the purpose of fellowship, encouragement, and gathering of information.

6.           Invitations to the quarterly meeting and distribution are open to all Indian pastors known by O.I.O. and agreed upon by its active members.

7.           Distribution of food, clothing, and other necessities shall take place in December of each year at Broken Arrow Bible Ranch in New Mexico.

8.           No commitments, promises, pledges, etc., shall be made unless approved by the active members in accordance with the guidelines set forth here, and must be within our capability, time and financial resources.

9.           No special preference shall be shown to any pastor, church, or individual for any reason.

10.       O.I.O. is a subsidiary of the Osborne Neighborhood Church and operates within the guidelines of a missionary outreach of the church.

11.      O.I.O. is a non-profit organization. All funds received are to go directly to its goal of assisting American Indian pastors, churches and individuals. No salary, expense, or any other cost of operating shall be paid out of funds received. All expenditures such as traveling expenses, food, gasoline, etc., for field trips are to be the sole responsibility of the individual participants.

12.      O.I.O. is a Christian organization and its members are to conduct themselves in a manner that brings honor to our Lord Jesus and according to biblical principles.

13.      All decisions pertaining to the operation, execution, and management of O.I.O. such as the disbursement of funds, food, and clothing, shall be made by unanimous agreement of the active members. Active members can make decisions otherwise relegated to a board of directors.

14.      Any person shall be allowed to assist in this outreach ministry as long as he or she is willing to abide by its standards. Field trip participants need to apply before going onto the reservations.

15.      Monthly or bi-monthly visits to the reservation are planned to gain first-hand knowledge of the needs of the different Indian communities.

16.      Children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

17.       A monthly newsletter shall be published to inform the congregation and supporters of our activities, goals and needs.

18.      A meeting shall take place the first Tuesday of each month at Osborne Neighborhood Church.

19.   All members and/or participants of O.I.O. shall abide by all the rules and guidelines of the organization.
